A skilling initiative geared towards training women in basic welding skills to increase their employability. Welding has traditionally been a male dominated profession, and through this initiative we hope to bring about change and integrate women into the profession. As welding skills are particularly sought after in the delivery of cryogenic storage, distribution and transportation solutions both in India and globally, we hope to empower women from underserved communities to gain employment in these fields through the Iron Women Skilling Programme.
When planning the Joining Hands Joining Hope project, the founder displayed a keen awareness of the fact that most of the women enrolled in the Iron Woman Skilling Program are financial contributors of their households. Considering that their work prior to their enrollment focused on daily-wage labor, it was imperative that they be adequately compensated for their time being trained with Joining Hands Joining Hope. It was thus that the Welding Futures Scholarship Program was developed to compensate members for their time, and to contribute to the ongoing efforts conducted by InoxCVA.
